Delek establishes Delek US, acquiring gas stations in America’s southeastern region and an oil refinery in Texas. Later, it acquired an oil refinery in Arkansas.

Yam Tethys’ partners introduce natural gas to the Israeli market. Israel Electric Company becomes its 1st offtaker.

Delek decides to establish a financial services arm and acquires a controlling stake in Phoenix, one of Israel’s largest insurers. Later, it acquires a controlling stake in Republic, a Dallas-based insurer.

Delek establishes a downstream arm in Europe, starting in Benelux and France.  Later, it acquired Roadchef, motorway services in the UK.

Delek establishes Israel’s first independent power producer plant in Ashkelon (87MW).

The discovery of Tamar (11.2 TCF) and Dalit (0.5 TCF), 100 kilometers off Israel’s northern coast, is a turning point for the country’s energy sector and for Delek Group.  Tamar was the world’s largest deep water natural gas discovery that year.

Delek and its partners discover the 21.4 TCF Leviathan offshore Israel, the world’s largest offshore gas discovery of the past decade, and the 1.2 TCF Tanin field.

The Tamar platform is transported by barge from Texas to its installation destination offshore Israel.

Delek and its partners discover the Aphrodite field (4.5TCF) in Cypriot waters and the Dolphin field (0.01 TCF) in Israel’s EEZ.
